Day 4 … ?
I think I’ve already lost track of my days ha.
We’re in it.
It’s amazing how much strength it takes to get out of bed when all you want to do is sleep under the warm covers (especially cozied up to the man you love). I’ve found that even though I keep telling myself I’m going to get out of bed when my alarm goes off at 5:55am (I like synchronicities), I somehow keep..hitting..snooooozzzzzzeeeeeeeee. Oops.
But hey, it’s a marathon not a sprint.
I’m currently working from home the next two weeks (fingers crossed it gets extended so I don’t have to go out into the cold) and allowing myself to find my groove. I know myself, if I allow myself to stay in sweats all day (even if they’re Lulu’s) I’ll be an unproductive hot mess. So what do I do? I’m so glad you asked. I get up, put in my AirPods, throw on a podcast (my current favorite is The Ella Ringrose Podcast), and do my hair and makeup as if I was going to work. This helps me stay mentally tuned into my routine.
Also – completely random side note. Do you think I should start a Podcast? I’ve been toying with the idea for a while but I never get the balls to follow through. Send me a message if you think I should..
So once I start work (8am) I have a cup of coffee and the past few days I’ve been mixing fresh celery juice with grapefruit juice – sounds nasty but omg so delicious. Then I don’t typically eat until 10:30-11am. Right now I’m addicted to avocado toast because I have the time to actually make it.
My avocado toast recipe:
- Slice of Ezikiel bread (toasted)
- 1/4 avocado
- 1/4 cup of Just Egg
- Sprinkle of feta cheese
- Sliced cherry tomatoes
- Sprinkle of Everything but the Bagel seasoning
S O – G O O D
Then, I had Chipotle today. I told myself I wasn’t going to have any but I’m a weak a*s b*tch and the heart wants what it wants (Selena Gomez). I did have a healthier bowl so pat pat on the back. I don’t know what the calories amounted to but here we go:
- Brown rice
- 1/2 scoop of black beans
- Double veggies
- Mild & hot salsa (why is it spicy? *IYKYK)
For my workouts, I recently watched this YouTube video and I’m on day 2 of trying it out. It’s this like “swear it works ab workout” by Vicki Justiz. I’m all for trying anything at least once! I will say, my abs are sore today but that’s also because I haven’t been exercising them for the last month. I did the workout, did a couple squats (mostly for the gram, peep my story), then finished off on the bike for 30mins.
It’s all in good fun. I know I’m not going to get results overnight and I know I won’t always be as disciplined as I want to be but that’s why I’m sharing all of this. Don’t feel like you have to be all or nothing. Nothing in life is all or nothing. The highlight reel is just that, a highlight. It’s not meant to make you feel bad about yourself or feel less than. I’m guilty af of only showing the positive side. I have tons of videos and photos on my phone of me feeling like sh*t but I don’t share that because it’s part of my journey and eventually I will share it. That’s why I’m writing this. To do my best to be upfront and honest about my weight loss journey. Because it’s not an overnight success. I hope this helps at least one person. Make one person know that they’re not alone and that I start over constantly and hold myself up to unrealistic expectations. I’m ready to break that cycle.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
