What can I possibly say about the first 31 days of 2019 other than BURRR….
The beginning of the month started off great! I had a 9 day countdown until I flew to Ft. Myers in Florida to see my boyfriends mom for 5 days before driving over to Ft. Lauderdale to vacation for another 5 days, I completed a 3 day juice cleanse, and I hit my lowest weight 149.2.
The trip itself was amazing and much needed! I got to spend time with my boyfriend while also getting to know his mom better (I’d met her once before over dinner), see some great museums, and have delicious food while leaving behind the frigid cold of Chicago in exchange for upper 70s!
I should probably make a separate post to elaborate lol
Anyways, the last day of our trip we got cancelled not once, but TWICE!
Then once we finally made it back home – I caught a cold the next day, oh and I gained 10 pounds on the trip… whoops!
I wasn’t as deterred by the weight gain as I was by getting sick. The whole week back at work I was in bed by 8:30-9:00pm the latest! Cough syrup was my bff and I even canceled one of my workouts!
This past week, if some of you are midwesterners, has been BRUTALLY cold. I’m talking like -55 degree wind chills! UGH.
Thankfully I’ve been able to work from home the past 2 days. I have not yet left my apartment which is starting to make me a little stir crazy…
What I did enjoy about being stuck inside was that I was able to do things on my schedule. When I woke up in the morning I decided to try my hand at T25, a cardio based Beachbody program that is in a DVD format. I loved getting a good sweat first thing in the morning. If I wasn’t already waking up at 6am to get ready for work I would totally do this before work at least a few times a week but a girl’s gotta sleep!
Then I made my protein shake and really allowed myself to enjoy it! Sometimes I’m so fixated on work that I don’t give myself the chance to enjoy what’s in front of me. I also worked on my 2B Mindset Certification so I can become a mentor to other people interested in leading a healthier lifestyle and having a positive mindset towards their daily meals. I love this program because it’s helped me become more mindful about the thoughts I have towards food and my body. I’ve lost 50 pounds and wouldn’t be able to keep it off without a positive mindset.
I should probably write a post on that too… ha more content to come!
Anyways, this month has felt like an entire year! It’s only going to get better. I can’t wait to see what February has in store for us 🙂
